As part of its commitment to advancing data-driven health research in Africa, CAFHOMEC participated in the 1st International Conference of the Cameroonian Society of Oncology (CISCON 2026), held in Douala under the theme: “Challenges in Cancer Management and Universal Health Coverage in Africa.”
During the conference, Marius Tadjuidje (University of Dschang, CAFHOMEC) presented a research work entitled: “Mathematical Modeling of the Impact of Financial Constraints on the Care Pathway of Precancerous Cervical Lesions.” This study explores how financial barriers affect access to screening and treatment services, and proposes optimized subsidy strategies tailored to the Cameroonian context.
Participation in CISCON 2026 reinforced CAFHOMEC’s mission to bridge mathematical modeling and public health in addressing major health challenges in Africa. It also highlighted the growing importance of interdisciplinary approaches in designing sustainable and equitable healthcare systems.
